Ukraine Hostages Released After President Agrees To Promote Joaquin Phoenix Movie

A man held a bus hostage in Ukraine for twelve hours. One of his demands was that President Volodymyr Zelenskiy promote the 2005 documentary Earthlings. Earthlings is a documentary about humanity's use of other animals as pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and for scientific research and is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix.  Zelenskiy posted a video on Facebook encouraging people to watch the film and the hostages were released unharmed with the kidnapper surrendering to the police soon after.
