After a noose was found hanging in Nascar driver Bubba Wallace's stall, Nascar notified the FBI of the incident and it is now being investigated.
Wallace has been a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement and advocated just recently against the display of the confederate flag during races. Wallace is the only full-time African American driver in the stock-car circuit’s elite Cup Series. When speaking about the incident, Wallace called it a "despicable act of racism and hatred [that] leaves me incredibly saddened and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society".
With the incident rightfully overshadowing the event, fellow drivers pushed the car along pit row to the start of the field for the national anthem, with many more drivers and team members walking behind. The show of support, including the hashtag #IStandWithBubba painted on the grass nearby.
The action left Wallace in tears.
This made me cry :( He's really brave and I hope they catch whoever did this
