Here's what else you need to know:
- The eligibility period for the Oscars will be extended to February 28, 2021
- Nominations will be announced on March 15, 2021

Rumored to be announced this weekend, the Academy Board of Governors meet today and made the following new rules on this year's Oscars:
-- The ceremony has been postponed two months to April 25, 2021. It will still happen at the Dolby Theater and will still air live on ABC.
-- Films released in January and February of 2021 will now be eligible.
-- Nominations will be announced March 15.
-- The Governors Awards, held as a seperate event in November, has been canceled. Honorees and how they will be honoed will be announced at a later date.
-- The Sci-Tech Awards ceremony planned for June has also been postponed.

-- The Creative Arts Emmys, previously set for September 12 & 13, will now be virtual over not-yet-scheduled nights in September.
-- The Governor's Ball afterparties after both the Creative Arts and Primetime ceremonies have been canceled.
-- Primetime Emmy ceremony is still scheduled to take place September 20, but ABC and the TV Academy haven't said how (tho in-person seems incredibly unlikely given the changes they just made today).
