Hartley Sawyer, who played The Elongated Man on the CW's Flash series, has been fired from the show after old tweets resurfaced that made references to sexual assault, racism, homphobia and misogny.
The tweets were made before Sawyer joined the show. While he no longer has a Twitter account, the tweets have been circulating for the past two weeks.
Here are some of the tweets that have surfaced:

"Enjoyed a secret boob viewing at an audition today."
"The only thing keeping me from doing mildly racist tweets is the knowledge that Al Sharpton would never stop complaining about me."
Sawyer apologized on Instagram, saying he is ashamed of his horrible attempts at getting attention and had no thought of the hurt they would cause.
