Drew Brees, quaterback for the New Orleans Saints, recently did an interview for Yahoo Finance. When asked by Yahoo about what he will think if players start to take a knee again during the national anthem when the NFL goes back into commision, he states, “I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America". He then goes on to explan how both of his grandfathers faught in WW2 and how they both "risked their lives to protect this country, and to try to make this country, and this world, a better place". He also brought up that there were "sacrfices not only in the milatary, but those throughout the civil rights movement in the 60's." He then spouts the typical US indoctrination spiel when it comes to honoring and singing to a piece of cloth that I don't care enough to highlight.
After the interview went online, some of Brees' fellow teammates called him out:
We don’t care if you don’t agree and whoever else how about that.— Michael Thomas (@Cantguardmike) June 3, 2020
