The Weeknd urges rich people to open up their deep pockets

"keep supporting our brothers and sisters out there risking everything to push for actual change for our black lives. Urging everyone with big pockets to give and give big and if you have less please give what you can even if it's a small amount. #blacklivesmatter (links in story)"

Yesterday The Weeknd revealed his donations to various causes amounting to a total of $500,000, the causes he donated to were as follows:

Black Lives Matter Global Network - two separate donations of $100,000 ($200,000 total)

Know Your Rights Camp - donation of $200,000

National Bail Out - donation of $100,000

He also urged those with deep pockets to donate big (which many need to hear since we've seen multiple rich celebrities brag about matching $50 donations)

He also posted on Instagram today urging record labels and streaming giants who continuously profit off Black artists and art to donate too:
"To my fellow respected industry partners and execs- no one profits off of black music more than the labels and streaming services. I gave yesterday and I urge you to go big and public with yours this week. It would mean the world to me and the community if you can join us on this"
