I did not need to see some of the images in this post before going to bed. 😨
Linda Cardellini plays Al’s wife Mae with a subdued rage that adds layers to the entire piece, including the scenes where she reacts to Al crapping on himself (there is more than one).

pass
Ontd, are you into scat?
where is the 😬 react
this sounds amazing
i love tom hardy, which is why i will not be watching this film
Sorely tempted to join you
Hardy's a himbo, right?
With anger issues and faking a ~simple background.
Ah yes. I forgot about his creative rages.

He ain't shit. Time for an update to this post: https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/97080446.html

Also, he he helped create that racist show, Taboo. Unfortunately, the original post about it was deleted, but you can still find the ontd tweet. iirc, he wrote himself to be half-native or something like that. and when i tried to google about it i found articles about them using the n word for it and how it couldn't be considered "non-racist", whatever that means.

How's Jack Lowden in it though? Won't watch it for him but will wait for youtube to cut his scenes for me.

I don't think Hardy is a diverse actor at all, he can only really do the one thing.
He use to take on more diverse roles, now he just goes for whatever will let him mumble the most.
The line between instantly recognizable character actor and self-parody is thin. Hardy is definitely at least on the verge of crossing it.
Jack is fine but he's barely in it. It's almost not even worth watching his scenes because it's probably only a few minutes total and one of the scenes is gross.
Great thank you for helping me not to see it! The trailer made it deceptive how big his role was. I'm curious what the cross scene is?

He was good in Lawless but ia, he just kinda does his one thing nowadays.
i cant tell if it's intentional bc even when i listen to him talk normally i can barely understand what hes saying
And it worked in Mad Max that's why I thought he was great and then ...

Still love Mad Max but I don't like him anymore, at all
I needed subtitles to understand him in the Dark Knight Rises
I mean...they mumble and are bad at articulating because he's playing them, not because they're specifically designed that way.
And his voice(/accent?) in Peaky Blinders, EWWW.
I have nightmares about that accent
sometimes it really works and sometimes he really works but he really does go from great to horrible for me in some roles lmao
eh lol, that article has a whole lot of ableism, its uncomfy :/

idk...

Well good for the independent company, but I don't care about Thomas at all.
Tom Hardy’s lips make me feel a bit sick. There’s something kind of liver-ish about them. I can’t look at him.

Anyway, Stephen Graham is the only Al Capone I need in my life.
His lips have always grossed me out
He was so good.
finally somebody said it. his mouth area makes me so uncomfortable, like it doesn't belong there.
Anyway, Stephen Graham is the only Al Capone I need in my life.

mte!!
I did see it, and it's DEEPLY weird and intentionally very off-putting, but I'm happy for its success because Trank has really won me over in the press "tour" for this; he seems genuinely nice and has a sensible attitude about reviews, not just the common "critics are just jealous meanies" view.

And there's something kinda refreshing about an incredibly unflattering biopic of a famous man. So many of them try to romanticize shitty things they did or omit certain negative elements, and this pretty much does the opposite.
Yeah, honestly, I like Trank. I follow him on SM, and 9/10 times if that section of 'CBM film twitter' starts fawning over him he's like "no guys I'm fine.", as well as publicly calling out M*x L*ndis.

I don't plan to see this, but he seems like a reasonable person (now).
We truly need that ONTD original on questionable Tom Hardy accents throughout the ages
Yes! For such a ~revered~ actor, he's pretty shitty at accents.
I'm gonna have to watch Charles Bronson, peaky blinders, and that one series where he played a mixed race guy if that was ever made, huh
That weird accent he did in Venom was just...lol

I've said this before, but I truly believes he just wants to be a voice actor. He seems to think the voice is integral to character conceptualization.
Them lips tho
my problematic fave 😬
These shots look horrible
