I'll Be Gone In the Dark (2020): Official Teaser | HBO

I’ll Gone in the Dark is a six-part documentary series based on the book of the same name by writer Michelle McNamara (Patton Oswalt's late wife), a true crime journalist who created the popular website TrueCrimeDiary.com, and her investigation into the dark world of a violent predator she dubbed the Golden State Killer. Directed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus.



I’ll Gone in the Dark premieres June 28 on HBO.

Paul Holes & Karen Gilgariff both make an appearance in the trailer. Paul Holes is a former cold-case investigator for the Contra Costa County District Attorney. Holes is known for his contributions to solving the Golden State Killer case using advanced methods of identifying the killer with DNA and genealogy technology.

Karen Kilgariff is one half of the podcast My Favorite Murder.
