Animal crossing sparks debate on art and video game censorship

The new update on hit switch game, animal crossing, added an art exhibition wing to the museum on your island. You can purchase art pieces from different time periods and showcase them in said wing. The masterpieces are true to their real world counterparts and this has generated controversy, specifically the David and the Discobolus, since they are anatomically correct and depict male nudity in a game aimed for all ages including kids.

This has made people wonder if Nintendo should have censured or made the art more modest so it wouldn’t offend someone, while others are praising the developer for portraying the sculptures as they really are and how the naked human body is not something to hide.

Note: Source is in Spanish but the tweets used in the article are in English.

Do you think nudity is intrinsically sexual and art forms should be censured?
