Books are not in danger. They have resisted plagues, dictatorships, natural disasters. They'll outlive us because they are a perfect vehicle of thought & sentiment, like forks or chopsticks are to food. But the book market is in a dire place. Support it. Not via Amazon (never):

- Writer Valeria Luiselli advised people to order books from indie booksellers and to stop binging Netflix
- Twitter as usual was totally humourless and called her ableist and a hypocrite since her books are available via Amazon
Otherwise, it's also simple: write to bookstores and talk to their booksellers, and ask if they have the books you want, and how to get them. It may take a few days longer than your usual waiting time. But what is usual time?

Also, if you want to watch a netflix series every night instead of reading the book by your side –-think about it twice. Or just don't do it. Netflix is to real books what a bowl of cornflakes is to a meal. And no one can dine cornflakes & not find life meaningless the next day.

Damn! I'm getting some hate for badmouthing netflix and cornflakes. Sorry if I hurt some sensibilities -- I guess I'm also protective over pulparindos, bubulubus, and certain unconfessable romantic comedies. Peace, people.
