'Friday Night Lights' Cast: Where Are They Now?

The Friday Night Lights cast went on to have one of the more successful careers of any ensemble TV show.

Kyle Chandler (played Eric Taylor)

After Friday Night Lights ended in 2011, he went on to appear in critically-acclaimed movies like Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, The Spectacular Now, The Wolf of Wall Street, Carol, Manchester by the Sea, and Game Night. Most recently, he signed on for the Godzilla franchise. He was a regular on Netflix's Bloodline. Him and his wife Kathryn recently adopted a dog.

Connie Britton (played Tami Taylor)

The actress has had very consistent work since the show ended. Britton was a series regular on the ABC/CMT drama Nashville and appeared as a main cast member in the first season of American Horror Story. Most recently, she played Roger Ailes' wife Beth in Bombshell and was a series regular on 9-1-1 on Fox. In March, she shared photos of her and her adopted son Yoby celebrating his 9th birthday.

Gaius Charles (played "Smash" Williams)

Charles' most prominent role after Friday Nights Live was playing Dr. Shane Ross on two seasons of Grey's Anatomy. He hasn't landed a major role yet but he does get consistent TV work, most recently appearing in recurring roles on God Friended Me and Roswell, New Mexico.

Zach Gilford (played Matt Saracen)

Gilford is married to actress Kiele Sanchez. He starred in The Purge: Anarchy with her in 2014. He had a recurring role in NBC's Good Girls and he is a series regular on L.A.'s Finest which is the Bad Boys spin-off starring Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba. He recently got cast in the seven-episode Netflix thriller Midnight Mass.

Minka Kelly (played Lyla Garrity)

Minka Kelly is a series regular on Titans and plays Dawn Granger/Dove. She was in a relationship with Chris Evans and Derek Jeter for a number of years before going on to date Jesse Williams. That relationship ended in 2018. Last year, she opened up about a past abortion in the wake of Alabama passing the strictest anti-abortion legislation.

Taylor Kitsch (played Tim Riggins)

Hollywood tried really hard to make Kitsch happen but his career never really took off. John Carter and Battleship both bombed at the box office and the second season of True Detective never reached the heights of the first. He recently posted about quarantining in a van. Today is his birthday.

Adrianne Palicki (played Tyra Collette)

Palicki was cast in a Wonder Woman TV Show for NBC which never aired. She went on to play Bobbi Morse in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and almost starred in a spin-off show about the character. Currently, she's a series regular on The Orville and is married to her co-star Scott Grimes.

Jesse Plemons (played Landry Clarke)

Plemons has arguably one of the best careers coming out of Friday Night Live aside from Michael B. Jordan. He was cast as Todd in Breaking Bad. His filmography includes critically-acclaimed movies like The Master, Bridge of Spies, The Post, Game Night, Vice, and The Irishman. He was in the "USS Callister" episode of Black Mirror. More importantly, he's engaged to his Fargo co-star Kirsten Dunst and has a son with her. Coming up, he's going to play the villain in The Rock's Jungle Cruise movie which comes out this year.

Scott Porter (played Jason Street)

Porter has done a lot of voice acting since the show ended. His most notable role was playing George Tucker in Hart of Dixie. He's a family man with two kids and is involved in raising awareness about Huntington's Disease which both his wife and mother-in-law are dealing with.

Aimee Teegarden (played Julie Taylor)

Teegarden was a lead in the short-lived CW drama Star-Crossed but she hasn't been seen much since the show went off the air. She recently celebrated her grandmother's 91st birthday. She's also a dog mom.

Michael B. Jordan (played Vince Howard)

Michael B. Jordan has become a legitimate celebrity. He was in Fruitvale Station, the Creed movies, and he played Killmonger in Black Panther. Last year he was in Just Mercy with Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson. He's going to star in David O. Russell's next film alongside Christian Bale and Margot Robbie. He's also reuniting with Ryan Coogler for his new movie Wrong Answer which is being written by Ta-Nehisi Coates. He's an avid gamer.

Jurnee Smollett-Bell (played Jess Merriweather)

Smollett-Bell was recently seen playing Black Canary in Birds of Prey alongside Margot Robbie. Before getting into DC films, she was a series regular on True Blood for one season and Underground. BET reported that she filed for divorce from her husband this year after 10 years together.
