Dave should be #1 because Jess was a shitheel when he and Rory were actually together (though he improved when he got older) and they had Luke do some really crappy things later in the series (not telling Lorelai about April, the petty way he behaved at Martha's Vineyard, etc...). Dave didn't do anything bad or questionable and he was the only one I can say that about. It's so sad how Adam got poached because, since he was based on ASP's bff's husband and Lane was based on that bff, he would've stayed on the show and Lane would've had a much better time.

I agree so hard on Dave. I really wanted to see what him and Lane could have become. Lane's storyline is so depressing in the revival. I wanted so much more for my 5 minute purple haired bb

Yeah it ended because Adam booked The O.C, and the rest they say is history.

He and Lane were great together, and he understood and tried his best for her. Ugh, her storyline was handled awfully in the last episode of this show.

What happened to Lane’s love life after Dave left is a total travesty. That she finds love with Zach is bad enough but I was willing to go with it, but then the whole horrible first time sex AND got impregnated in that shot with twins AND her life glimpses into the revival. Too much suck.

This exactly. It's like Lane was being punished in every story line she had post-Dave. What happened to her is so upsetting.

I never realized it until I started rewatching the show when I was older but omg they did! There always seemed to be a negative consequence for having sex (Paris, Lane to an extent) and it was awful

Definitely. And when Paris tells Rory that she had sex and asks if Rory has and she says no, Lorelai says “I’ve got the good kid.” Wtf?? Paris isn’t a good kid because she’s had sex? Such bullshit. I read somewhere that Lauren Graham hated that line and I don’t blame her.

it is a completely stupid line and very odd coming from Lorelai, unless she thinks of herself as a bad person for having sex as a teen. it makes me angry whenever I watch that episode.
