Bindi Irwin (21), Animal Planet star and the daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, married her longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell (23) this morning at the Australia Zoo (49), hours before the Coronavirus lockdown. They canceled their big wedding and had a simple ceremony attended by only Bindi's mother (55) and brother (16), and they lit a candle in Steve Irwin's memory. The couple has been together since 2013.
Chandler Powell, Bindi's husband:
We’re finally married! ❤️ Today, March 25, 2020, marks the most amazing day of my life. I married my best friend. After almost a year of planning, we changed everything so that we could enjoy a safe and small private ceremony at our home, Australia Zoo. As we embark on this new life chapter I hope that we can share some love in the world, especially during this challenging time.
Robert Irwin:
25/03/2020. This is a day that we will never forget. Bindi and Chandler, words cannot describe how happy and proud I am that today you started your married life and celebrated love during a difficult time for our world. And I was beyond honoured to get to walk Bindi down the aisle today. Even though all of your wedding plans had to change at the last minute to keep everyone safe and healthy, it truly was an emotional and beautifully spontaneous day... I know that Dad was with us, and we are all so delighted for your future as husband and wife. I love you both.

The Australia Zoo family are thrilled for Bindi and Chandler, we wish them a long and happy future together as husband and wife, They had a beautiful small, private ceremony together in the gardens of Australia Zoo. At this stage, we are unable to share additional details of the special day, but keep an eye on Bindi and Chandler’s social media channels for updates. We are in the process of working on a very special project that will ensure Bindi and Chandler’s wedding is shared with everyone.
