Rihanna's nonprofit organization, the Clara Lionel Foundation, has donated $5 million to various organizations that are responding to coronavirus crisis. The nonprofit was created in 2012 and it is named after her grandparents.
The foundation donated funds to Direct Relief, Partners In Health, Feeding America, the International Rescue Committee, and World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The funds will help support relief efforts in the US, the Caribbean, and in Africa.
The funds will go to supporting local food banks, particularly ones that serve the elderly and at risk communities. The funds will also go to supporting healthcare workers by providing them with protective equipment, establishing ICU's, and providing other medical supplies for testing and care.
