Amazon is developing a limited series based on the New York Magazine story "The Stolen Kids of Sarah Lawrence," a banned source has reported, with Reed Morano (Meadowland, I Think We're Alone Now) attached to direct.
The 2019 story tells "the true story of a group of students at Sarah Lawrence University who fell under the sway of Larry Ray, an ex-con and their classmate's father, beginning in 2010. In February, Ray was indicted by federal prosecutors on charges of sex trafficking, extortion, conspiracy, forced labor, and more."
Blumhouse Television, who acquired the rights to the project last May, will executive produce along with Scoop Wasserstein for New York Magazine and Vox Media Studios. No actors or writers are currently attached, despite initial reports that Mark Wahlberg was circling the project to produce and star in (as Ray) himself.
