Her first lead single in two years, Demi Lovato has finally released the pop anthem and video for "I Love Me" off her forthcoming seventh studio album (yet to be announced). In the video, there are homages to her Camp Rock days, the Jonas brothers, and her relapse.
Demi recently appeared on Ellen, in which she spoke about her struggles with her eating disorder and the tight control her previous team had over her caloric intake and food choices in the years leading up to her near-fatal overdose. They tracked her Starbucks orders, removed sugar from her dressing room, and wouldn't let her eat birthday cake every year, instead giving her a "watermelon cake" which became a running joke for her.
“Little things like that, it led me to be really, really unhappy,” she said. “My bulimia got really bad and I asked for help and I didn’t receive the help I needed. I felt completely abandoned, so I drank. That night I went to a party and there was other stuff there. And it was only three months before I ended up in the hospital with an OD."
