If you've seen the new docu-series The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez, you may recognize the Palmdale teacher Jennifer Garcia, who testified and was interviewed regarding the case (shes on the far left).
Many people were outraged that she didn't do more for little Gabriel... but now she's under new scrutiny. She's in the midst of controversy over an older staff photo of the members of that school posing with a noose which went viral in 2019. It's now making its way all over social media due to the documentary release.
Various theories and speculations flew as to why they're posing smiling with a noose, many believed it was a celebration of the death penalty conviction after trial but reports state this was well after that trial and it has nothing to do with it according to Gabriel Fernandez' cousin.
The school district's lawyer said this was a staff pic uriging everyone to "hang in there" as the school year is almost over and Summer's almost here. (WTF?)
The superintendant was not pleased and said he was shocked by the photo.
The four teachers are placed on administrative leave due to the pic.
