Parasite team Seoul press conference after winning 4 Oscars

Bong Joon-ho, Song Kang-ho, Park So-dam, Lee Sun-kyun, Jo Yeo-jeong, Lee Jeong-eun, Jang Hye-jin, Park Myeong-hoon, CEO Gwak Shin-ae, screenwriter Han Jin-won, production designer Lee Ha-joon and film editor Yang Jin-mo attended the final 'Parasite' press conference in South Korea today.
Choi Woo-Shik was unable to attend because he's currently filming a movie.
The cast and crew all thank the South Korean audience for their support.
Director Bong comments on why Parasite's Oscar campaign was successful and thanks Neon and Tom Quinn for all their support, especially considering their budget for promotion was limited. But they made up for it with lots of passion and enthusiasm.
He also says he wasn't trying to belittle the Oscars with the 'local' commentary, he just meant it in relation to all the international film festivals like Cannes, Venice and Berlin.
He thinks 'Parasite' garnered massive popularity because the core theme resonates all over the world and it's something that can happen in real life so it's easier for others to relate.
Martin Scorsese wrote him a personal letter, he didn't share the content except the last line: "You've done well. Now rest. But don't rest for too long."
Lee Jeong-eun comments on memorizing all her interview answers in English and being nervous when she had to introduce Director Bong at the DGA Awards.
Park So-dam says she would like to work in Hollywood someday if given the chance.
Song Kang-ho says that he feels lucky enough to find work in Korea. (lol)
Park Myeong-hoon says nobody recognized him from the movie and thought he was a staff member.
Director Bong comments on the decision of re-releasing Parasite in black and white.
Lee Sun-kyun thought 'Parasite' winning an Oscar would be a milestone for South Korea but when it swept and won Best Picture he realized it was also a milestone for the Academy. He thanks them for voting for them without any prejudice.
Jo Yeo-jeong says standing on the Oscars stage as a foreigner made her realize the strength and power of movies.
Song Kang-ho comments on his reaction after the Best Picture announcement was made.
Bong Joon-ho expands a little on the HBO limited series he's planning. He mentions Tilda Swinton and Mark Ruffalo being cast as the series leads but that nothing is official yet. And it'll probably take a long time before the series airs. Snowpiercer, for example, has taken 5 years of work.
Director Bong comments a little on the process of subtitling so important stuff wasn't lost in translation.
They comment on meeting many American celebs during the awards circuit.
Song Kang-ho says the happiest he's seen Bong Joon-ho was when the cast won Best Ensemble at the SAG Awards.
The cast and crew say they all feel very happy and proud of their journey and hope it'll have a lasting impact on the film industry all over the world.
