Ben Affleck Calls Divorce from Jennifer Garner the 'Biggest Regret of My Life' https://t.co/JwtHlexJQH— People (@people) February 18, 2020
In an exclusive interview with the New York Times, Ben Affleck reveals that his biggest regret is his divorce from Jennifer Garner.
“The biggest regret of my life is this divorce," Ben said. "Shame is really toxic," he continued. "There is no positive byproduct of shame. It’s just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing.”
Ben discusses his feelings of shame and he said that it is not healthy for him to obsess over his "failures" or his relapses. He admits that he has made mistakes and done things that he regrets. He said that he wants to "learn from them" and "learn from it, learn some more, try to move forward.”
Ben said that his drinking wasn't an issue until 2015/2016, when he and Jennifer started having martial problems. After that, his drinking created more issues for the couple.
Affleck and Garner, both 47, announced their separation in June 2015 and settled their divorce in October 2018. The two started dating in 2004 and married in 2005. They have three children, Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 7.
