Jim Carrey slammed for saying female reporter was only thing left to do on his ‘bucket list’

Jim Carrey was slammed on Twitter for telling a woman journalist in an interview that she was the only thing left for him to do on his “bucket list.”

Journalist Charlotte Long of Heat Magazine asked Carrey about his career :

Long - “In the film, Sonic has a bucket list. I was wondering, after all you’ve done in your career and in your life, is there anything still left on your bucket list?”

Carrey - “Just you. That’s it, it’s all done now.”

Long - “Wow. I don’t know what to say to that!”

Carrey - “Just own it,”

Twitter users took Carrey’s comments in a predatory light.
Others defended Carrey’s “flirty” remarks.
Others admitted they just saw it as a joke.

Gross. Don't hit on women doing their jobs. Ever.

It sounds like he meant doing the interview with her? Cause he said "it's all done now". Like they did the interview and now his bucket list is complete?
lol. If that was the case.
Yeah that's what I got from it. But I can see how it goes both ways.

That’s how I read it
if that's what he wanted it to mean he probably should have said,"being interviewed by you" bc it reads sketchy, tbh.
Yeah, if that was ALL he said, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt... but the 'Just own it' part takes away from that, imo.
That's how I read it, but I definitely understand how people see it the other way.
Yeah that's what I got, too
Why would he say "Just own it", though?

That’s what I thought too. This is the kind of case where I’d wait to see how the interviewer feels about this instead of insisting she was harassed.

That's how I read it tbh (didn't watch clip, just read this post) I hope that's the case.
That's how I understood it too.
yeah that's how i read it but i don't put it past anybody at this point lol
yeah that's how it sounded to me too. that he was joking about the interview, not doing her.
That’s not how it sounds to me, and I don’t think she would have responded with wow wtf if she had thought it referred just to the interview

I agree.
That’s 100% what I took From it
100% thats what he meant
that's how I read it
This is how I read it too I think he just worded it really poorly.

IDT he's ever been known to be terribly skeezy (but please come correct me if I'm wrong), he's just gotten very weird over the years...
Mate.
Very lame/dated joke if it was intended as a joke
I never really liked Jim Carrey. Between this and finding out he's an anti-vaxxer, I like him even less.
i don't think he's an anti vaxxer anymore
I think it was jenny McCarthy who was and he was supportive of her but I haven't heard a peep since they split.
I thought it was Jim Carrey who influenced Jenny to be anti-vaxxer.

Ew lmao
He was sexist to Margot Robbie on Graham Norton recently too, it was really uncomfortable to watch. Basically he made a ~joke~ like “good to see you still make it despite your physical deformities” or whatever, which, okay... then he says sarcastically something like, “just talent is what got you here”. It was one of those “laugh to be polite” moments and it was gross IMO.
Ugh when he came out, that entire episode got weird. He was being pretty gross towards Jodie Turner-Smith, too. At one point, Graham Norton has to tell him to stop.
wow! the vitriol towards women is weirdly something i wouldn't have expected from him

See I had to turn it off because he was clearly moving to each guest and I didn’t wanna see what else was gonna happen.
the physical deformities thing would make me laugh bc it's a clear joke bc she's so freaking beautiful but yeah the other comment is not cool

You know what? Nah. It ain't my place to weigh in on this discussion, especially as a man. My apologies.
Those comments were in such poor taste. He made that episode very awkward, I felt embarrassed for the guests and audience that they had to sit there and listen to him.
he turned into a skeevy old man ages ago

remember his emma stone video? he was gross towards margot robbie on graham norton too
UGH i still feel so fucking squicked out by his emma stone video

i know as a woman whenever i've gotten creepy unwanted attention from older men (which has happened multiple times as i'm sure it has with other women bc men are the worst) i've just wanted to crawl in a hole and die so i can't even imagine how emma felt
Gross and unfunny
Creepy and inappropriate.
That is a man thing to say when a woman is doing her job. Like when a man said to me as I was baking that he only came into the shop to compliment my body.

It is so common place with customers and clients that women face it everyday. That is what I would say this is like.
I see hes back on his bullshit

men, especially older men, seem to think comments like that are ~rakish and cheeky~ but really they're just skeevy and gross. I'm sorry if that shit went over well at the bar when you were 22 but when you're in your 50s and saying stuff like that to women who can't throw a drink in your face and leave the bar bc THEY'RE AT WORK, you're a creep.
Men just say this when you are doing your job. It is always male customers or clients who say it and especially if you work in a chain shop where they know the customer is never told to go away.
He’s so disgusting. Remember that weird video he made about Emma Stone after Easy A? Even if he was kidding it was still really uncomfortable. Also he’s aging like shit lol
Remember when he made that creepy video for Emma Stone.
I completely forgot about that.
Yep. That shit was creepy and awkward.
