Mandy Moore reflects on her teen pop past in new song "Fifteen"

Mandy Moore released the fourth single off her upcoming album Silver Landings (out March 6) today. Entitled "Fifteen," the song finds the 35-year-old multi-hyphenate reflecting on the early days of her music career, when she was signed to Epic Records and packaged as their answer to Britney, Christina and Jessica.

Moore's never been shy about how she views her early output. When asked about her first two albums (1999's So Real and 2001's Mandy Moore) in 2006, she told a reporter, "If I had the money, I would give a refund to everyone who bought [them]."

Young girl, up early
Wasn't old enough to drive
Took a trip from Seminole County
With her mother by her side
Next up, New York City
World was falling at her feet
She thought she was making music
But she was only filling seats

No regrets, with a few exceptions
Every wrong turn, was the right direction
Still a part of me
Still a part of me

Glowsticks, pink cotton candy
A touch of glitter on her lips
On parade for the radio station
So they'll play her biggest hits
Missed prom, missed graduation
No college end of Fall
On the road with a boyband, singing
For the people in the mall

No regrets, with a few exceptions
Learning to love all the imperfections
That are still a part of me
Still a part of me
Still a part of me
Still a part of me

Somewhere between the demo
And the lonely public eye
So real, real famous
Without even knowing why

No regrets, with a few exceptions
Every wrong turn was the right direction
Learning to love all the imperfections
That are still a part of me
Still a part of me
Still a part of me
Still a part of me
