Deborah Dugan has filed a charge of discrimination against the Recording Academy (the Grammys) where she describes being sexually harassed by attorney Joel Katz (counsel to the Academy and former member and Chair of the "Board"). She also details conflicts of interest, improper self-dealing by board members and voting irregularities with respect to nominations for the Grammys. Dugan mentioned how a black woman who worked for the Academy's museum was fired after she began to raise concerns about diversity at the Academy.
Neil Portnow, Dugan's predecessor, didn't get his contract renewed because he "alledgedly" raped a female recording artist.
There are rumors that female performers are going to drop out of the show.

Dugan claims that Ed Sheeran & Ariana Grande received enough votes for a "Song of the Year" nomination in 2019, but did not gain the nomination due to the song that finished 18/20 in final-round voting. pic.twitter.com/KGMf8lKfeB— The Pop Hub (@ThePopHub) January 21, 2020
