Burger King offends "One Million Moms" by using "the D-word" in Impossible Whopper ad

According to One Million Moms (allegedly), BK's Impossible Whopper is "a burger made from plants instead of beef."

The "highly inappropriate" ad shows a male taste tester "completely shocked that the burger is not beef, so he uses the d-word to describe how he feels about himself for being deceived by the taste of the burger."

That customer didn't have to curse! "The language in the commercial is offensive, and it's sad that this once family restaurant has made yet another deliberate decision to produce a controversial advertisement instead of a wholesome one."

The Southern Poverty Law Center-listed hate group finds the ad irresponsible and tasteless. "It is extremely destructive and damaging to impressionable children viewing the commercial. We all know children repeat what they hear."

+ D---, that’s good!Collapse )

Meanwhile...

I was quoted in an article in Vox and when I shared it with my parents my mom said she liked it but was offended I said "damn" in one of my quotes.

So I guess my mom would be offended by this ad lol.
This country is falling apart, people are living in poverty, the mega rich are hording wealth, climate change is fucking us up but thank god one million moms is here to bring attention to what really matters.
damn right they are!
I bet they're mostly Trump voters too
The need to unclench relax.
i think them not clenching in a long while is part of their problem.
I thought the word was douchebag. Damn never even entered my mind.
It is extremely destructive and damaging to impressionable children

Have they ever made a statement on the kids being held in cages?

Nevermind, pretty sure I know the answer to that one.
i was sitting here RACKING my brain at what the d word could be until i saw the cut lmao

I'm not shocked, if only because "damn" may appear in the bible, but it's a word you're not supposed to take in vain or what the fuck ever. Like to us these days it's low on the vulgar totem pole, but depending where you're from and how thick in the xtian mire you are, it really is on par with fuck. (or actually worse, because it's a religious word and those are taken more seriously.)

i mean they're all still idiots.
weirdly, I just saw this commercial before seeing this post
Isn't One Million Moms really just one white woman being super extra????
They have members but nowhere near one million, they are part of the American Family Association.

After the Hallmark ad I went to their website and they list shows being cancelled 2-3 years after their campaigns as their successes. lol
These Dickwads need God Damned lives.
...is it a Monday brain thing or is it not clear what the “d word” is??? I’m blanking on what word, starting with d, this group would find offensive 🤔
ok white moms calm down
