War of the Windsors: Queen Elizabeth II confirms Harry and Meghan will move to Canada

Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family.

My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.

Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives.

It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK.

These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.

The articles today about racism at the daily mail were disgusting
Link please?
Let me guess - denying it’s a thing, using their financial privilege as a way to deny racism can also be at play, generally being dickheads?

Megxit 2020
The amount of coverage this has been getting compared to more important shit happening at the moment is really absurd.

This statement was a letdown, don't know what I wanted or expected but at least I got my drama elsewhere.

William was named as the culprit behind the bullying in the Times.

Laughed at people on Twitter seeing how quickly he could put out a statement (oh excuse me a "joint statement") defending himself and how he advocates against online bullying but he (nor the rest of the family) can lift a finger to say something in defence of Meghan recieving racist comments with horrid comparisons to Kate or Harry who was called fragile and weak, and was stated to have been dropped by him.

Saw a clip of a panel discuss the accusation: https://twitter.com/BBCPolitics/status/1216722155775369218?s=09

I hope more stuff comes out.

It was also interesting to learn Kate's spokesperson is friends with Dan Wooten.

Kind of pissed on behalf of Canadians, who are gonna be paying for some of the security b/c the british public should be reaping what they sow, by now the royal family could have been regular celebrities with a cool family tree but with the British public's right to vote they have chosen to keep the monarchy important, this is of course a simplified view but still you know what I mean.

I do hope them living in Canada and not adhering to the royal rota lessons things.

In all honesty I'm ready for Harry and Meghan to get rich(er) so I can b**** about something else that's not related to racism, sexism, and mental health when it comes to them.

And last but not least, now the news can can actually focus on news.
I've been entertained by this idiocy tbh. It's like a modern gossipy Game of Thrones without murder (well, mostly).

I'm cackling at Harry basically getting what he wanted. I guess he's still the favourite grandkid. William is likely pissed about this, now even when he does become king or when Charles does, he'll have no say in funds that Meghan and Harry receive. And I saw Piers Morgan and Dan Wooton making utter fools of themselves on Twitter about this fiasco. So that's a win.

The royal courtiers need to be handled, Lizzie. Maybe if they weren't busy running interference and leaking shit to the press, the last few days of drama wouldn't have happened.
William is pissed because he has to be king. They don't want another abdication. He has no choice like Harry.
I would feel bad for him but he seems to be a bit of a shit and like he enjoys a lot of the perks of being heir despite the lack of choice etc.
imagine if says tomorrow "bitch bye", takes wife and kids and moves in with middletons.

at least three heart attacks in one day.

It doesn’t sound like he entirely got what he wanted, though. I mean, that statement is still really vague but if they’re working towards independence then it seems like the “half in, half out” pitch didn’t fly.

She needed to stop the hemorrhage ASAP lol
Well, that went faster than the brexit. /jk
Bloop bloop
Shame we can’t get Canada to take the rest of these elitist parasites.

Maybe when the old dear pops her clogs the country will re-evaluate its servitude and kick the lot of them to the curb. 🤞
Charles is slimming it down when he becomes King.
"Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives."

How about Harry and Meghan will not be reliant on public funds in their new lives? Why is it so hard?

You know the Queen did a Nino Brown during that meeting; told everybody to sit their 5 dollar asses down before she made change, called them all incompetent, and was basically like "This is how it's going to go."

I think the Queen et all should've leaned into being classy and saving face, it could be spun as a good look for them to move within the Commonwealth, and also stay Royal while not being senior. Could still participate in engagements every now and then? But it looks like they've just been adding to the messiness.
For everyone bitching about funding, I think y'all forget that Harry was left about $15 Million when Diana died; that's no chump change. He probably hasn't had to tap in it since he had the fam footing his bills, so it probably increased since then. They'll be fine.
Don't they spend some insane amount on security a year? 15 mil is insane for the average person, but you can quickly burn through that with their lifestyle
I saw an article saying something like 600k a year on security, 15 million would not go a very long way with this kind of expense
this is not what they wrote on their site. that's the problem.
This will end in divorce and regret.
keep them. vancouver already has enough social and economical issues. i’d rather my tax dollars go to homes for the homeless and those in poverty over their security.
