Rachel Bloom is set to collaborate with The Nanny star Fran Drescher and series creator Peter Marc Jacobson on a musical version of the 90's sitcom. Drescher and Jacobson will write the book, while Bloom will write the lyrics and co-write the music with fomer Crazy Ex-Girlfriend colloborator Adam Schlesinger.
Who will play the titular nanny? No one has been cast yet. Drescher said “Of course I would do it myself, but we’d have to change the title to The Granny.”
The cast of the Broadway musical Waitress took their final bows on January 5th, 2020. The musical debuted on Broadway in April 2016, and a national tour and West End production are still running.

Sing Street, the musical based on the film of the same name that has been running at New York Theater Workshop since November, has announced a transfer to Broadway. The show, about students at a Catholic school who form a band amidst the backdrop of 1980's Ireland, will begin performances at the Lyceum Theater on March 26th. Brenock O'Connor, aka Olly from Game of Thrones, plays the lead and will transfer with the production.
Emilia Clarke is set to make her West End debut in a production of Chekhov's The Seagull at The Playhouse. Tickets are available now for shows beginning March 11th, 2020.
