Candace Owens was invited to speak on Jameela Jamil's podcast 'I Weigh" after Candace posted a tweet that was deemed transphobic and made a trans coworker feel unsafe.

Jameela does this a lot. She says something online or does something without doing her homework and a bit of research. She apologizes a lot for making these mistakes, yet the more she keeps doing so, the more her apologies lose meaning. If she keeps at it, she's going to be the next Lena Dunham. She seems to mean well, and I don't think she needs to be cancelled, but she seems too quick to act without doing or saying things with some thought. Doing so would give her more credibility and not hurt her reputation. She backtracks a lot, and it's painful to watch/read.

this feels like bullshit to me. if you are a celebrity known for your activism, and you have a podcast discussing said activism - wouldn't you thoroughly vet your potential guests? research them at all, so you don't go into your debate/discussion totally blind? not even her personally, but does she not have a team behind her to do any of them for her?

I like Jameela but claiming she wasn’t aware of Candace’s past ignorance is such a crock of shit and it pisses me off. if you invite someone to your podcast, you would probably do at least some basic research on the person so you can ask them questions tailored to them, is she going to claim that she didn’t do any research or is she going to argue that Candace’s bigoted comments didn’t come up doing that research?
