Robert Smith is working with everyone

Brian and Stefan have each had their turn, it has now come to light that Placebo’s drummer, Steve Hewitt, has been plotting away for his own side project slated for mixing September 2007, release in 2008.

Even though Placebo drummer Steven Hewitt has given the last 11 years of his life to Placebo he confesses that he’s starting to want to experiment with different sounds. And that is why he has been grouping his own album, currently titled ‘Ancient B’ for which he has contacted Robert Smith from The Cure to collaborate as a vocalist, but he also has found a loyal sidekick in bassist Jon Thorne, from the electronic band Lamb.

"STEVE: I called Robert Smith to collaborate on a couple of songs, but mostly I’ve been working with Jon Thorne, from the band Lamb. He’s a great friend from Manchester and we’ve been working in my house studio. The album is currently titled Ancient B and it’s like drum & bass and dance. I’m expecting it’ll be ready to be mixed by September."

Yeah, I know it's a little old, but I didn't see it posted and with the current Ashlee/Robbert stuff going up I figured people would be interested.
