Underground pop artist Slayyyter exposed for racist tweets sent from Camila Cabello stan account

She was called the future of the genre in 2019, but now underground pop artist Slayyyter (real name Catherine Slater), 23, is apologizing to her black fanbase after years' worth of racist tweets were uncovered that she sent from a Camila Cabello stan account. (You can't make this shit up.)

According to the user who posted about the tweets, they found Slater's previous accounts, @harrys_anaconda and @camilkacowbello, through a simple Twitter search for "Slayyyter." While the former is no longer active, the latter was reactivated by an unknown Good Samaritan upon discovery of the tweets for posterity.

Following the exposé, the artist took to her current account to apologize to "the black community and no one else," writing:

"I am sorry for letting you down. I am sorry for all these appalling tweets. Seven to eight years ago I had a One Direction/Fifth Harmony 'sass account' (that's what they were called before the word 'stan' became a thing). I was extremely annoying and cringey and would use slurs and say other things online because I thought I was being edgy or funny. As I matured I realized it is never funny or cool to use those words under any circumstances. Very shortly after this period of time I realized the way I was tweeting was disgusting and ignorant and I stopped.

"I have grown and changed so much in the past eight years and the person I am today is not who I was at age fifteen. Eight years is a lot of time to reflect, grow, mature and better yourself as a human being. And I know that being young or uneducated about the matter also does not excuse any of these things, but please know that people do change. To see so many of you, the people who have given me endless support and love over the last year, people that I have formed close relationships with, be hurt by my idiotic choices I made so long ago is something I will never forgive myself for.

"This apology is not going to matter to some people and that's okay. Just please know that I feel so sick to let so many of you down when you have done nothing but love and support me. I never really deserved any of this support in the first place but thank you for supporting me anyway. I am not asking anyone to forgive me in any way shape or form, but thank you for hearing me out. I will have nothing but love for you all till the day I die."
