OP's Note: This little series is the marriage between Harvest Moon and RPGs. If you want to farm, you can. If you want to do a million side quests (like OP), you can! If you want to count every lady/man in the game (OP is a player like that), you can! But beside that, the characters are loads of fun and hilarious. You end up getting feelings when you didn't expect it.
Legend of Heroes: The Trails of Cold Steel III(PS4)
OP's Note: The series has been on three different consoles (Vita/PS3/PS4) for some odd reason and is already finished up in Japan. We finally got 3rd installment in Oct. Was it worth the wait? Yes. It was slow going from the start...whoa cookies, the ending. The characters are marvelous and you get feelings. Don't play this game at this time of that month. I cried.
OP's 2nd Note: Play the first two...on PS4 (P3 Version is a glitchy mess)
Tales of Berseria (PS4)
OP's Note: This game is sequel/prequel to tales of Zesteria. I am not going to try to explain the plot because hell, it has holes...huge holes. The characters make this game shine. It also introduce me to my queens, Velvet and Magilou.
Pokemon: Sword and Shield (Switch)
OP's Note: I debate for a bit on which pokemon game to put here. We have been waiting for this awhile now. Was it worth the wait? That is debatable. I am not going to lie. I did marvel at this being on my tv screen. The feelings of catching some of my favorite pokemon (SEEDOT!) gave me emotions that I didn't know I had. Tha ability to explore the Wilds or just sit back and listen to the music has been a treat.
Nier Automata (PS4)
OP's Note: From the suggestions of others, I decided to pick up this game. It took me a bit with the controls. Once, I did. It has been so much fun and some parts so sad. Music is also very beautiful. That alone is worth it.
Dragon Quest XI (PS4/Switch)
OP's Note: A classic RPG game that I really enjoyed. Yes, it is bit of old school but those who long for the classic turn based system are in for a treat. I won't tell you on how many hours I spent find materials for the next weapon or side quest (a lot).
Shin Megami Tensei IV (DS)
OP's Note: You want go back to a time where even basic monsters kick your butt? This game is for you. This game requires patience and williness to grind levels. You get a sense of pride when you beat a strong boss. The story isn't half bad either.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild (Switch)
OP's Note: The opening sold me on getting a Switch. I regret nothing.
Fire Emblem Three Houses (Switch)
OP's Note: Since tactic role playing games aren't my thing (I suck at them), I decided to watch this one on youtube instead of playing it. I almost made me to pick up...almost.
Kindgom Hearts 3 (PS4/XBox)
OP's Note: I had a lot of feelings about this game. Lots. I could express them in caps locks and emjios but I won't. Hopefully, Square doesn't take a million and half years to release the next one.
Persona 5 (PS3/PS4)
OP's note: I am not a huge fan of this entity of the series especially after replaying 3 and 4. In fact, I almost want to put Persona Q here instead. Opps. But as a RPG, it had some really fun elements and the characters were joy. (Yusuke and the lobsters and my forever fluffy queen, Haru) The plot...uhh...hmmm...It started out strong? >.> Oh and it is pretty.
