- Netflix really wants to win some Oscars
- their movies this season are “The Irishman”, “Dolemite Is My Name”, “The Two Popes”, and "Marriage Story”
- they flew out a ton of journalists to fancy trips in NYC and LA that inlcuded movie screenings, exclusive Q&As with the stars, and stays in nice hotels
- a large number of these journalists are Critics Choice Award voters, where Netflix scored 61 nominations
- at the recent Screen Actors Guild awards, who have stronger ethical guidelines for their members, Netlix only got 20 nominations, most of them for TV shows
- a rival executive calls it “This is Harvey but on steroids,”
- the Netflix PR is run by Lisa Taback, a longtime Weinstein employee
