Can confirm Disney did not submit The Lion King as animated film for the #GoldenGlobes. HFPA did this on their own. Hilarious.

For a while now, there has been a debate whether the remake of The Lion King is "live-action" or animated, seeing that their are no humans on screen in the movie and all but one shot in the movie is real, with the other being CGI and animation.
Disney has so far refused to acknowledge the film as animated movie and has submitted it as live-action for the 2020.
However, this didn't stop the HFPA from nominating it as an animated movie, despite Disney not submitting the movie in that category.
Even after the nomination, Disney still refuses as evident from their celebration post for the movie get a Golden Globe nomination (notice how The Lion King poster doesn't mention the animated movie nomination but the Frozen 2 poster does).
Congratulations to Golden Globe nominees: Ford v. Ferrari, Frozen 2, The Lion King, and Toy Story 4. #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/owKadz40v0
