Pete Davidson asks fans to sign $1 million NDA before attending comedy shows

Pete Davidson is reportedly making attendees of his shows sign a $1 million non-disclosure agreement before being able to attend one of his comedy shows.

A fan who wanted to attended a show at the Sydney Goldstein Theater in San Fransico, posted screenshots of the contract and detailed its demands on Facebook.

“I got an email today informing me that in order to see this show I have to sign a nondisclosure agreement," read the post. “In that NDA the signer CANNOT GIVE ANY INTERVIEWS, OPINIONS OR CRITIQUES about it in ANY form whatsoever including blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or any other social networking.”

She also says the NDA gives Davidson’s team the right to confiscate, seize, and destroy any phones or cameras that breach the agreement, and that any breach will require a $1 million payment in damages and legal fees.

“I understood and was willing to consent to the initial request of locking up any phones or cameras brought to the event, but I think this a bit ridiculous and over the top,” she continued. “I get that comedians are protective of their jokes and don’t want their routines rebroadcast, but it’s rather Orwellian to not allow anyone to share an opinion on it. Don’t perform for the public if you don’t want people to have an opinion about it!”

While this news has only just now begun gaining nationwide coverage, Davidson started implementing this NDA policy since at least November 7th during a gig in Minneapolis.

I’ve signed NDAs to visit my bf at work and to visit my ex at his old job. I’d never sign a NDA for Pete Davidson lol
What an immature coward. Grow up and take some responsibility for your words and actions.

An NDA means he refuses to be accountable for anything he says, including tasteless, hateful, racist, misogynistic jokes.
Knew John Mulaney was a turd, indulging this behaviour is grotesque
I honestly think John wants to try to mentor him to a better, healthier life cause John was such a mess when he was younger. I think he sees some of his old self in Pete and thinks, "oh if he spends time with me & my wife, maybe we'll have a good influence on him, etc..."

It can be hard to walk that line with someone like this though-- where you trying to be there for them can cross into "enabling" their behavior :/
Tbh, I refuse to give him credit for that after Pete's violently racist and sexist rants have come out. I don't trust any white man who's able to hand wave all that away under the guise of ~helping a bro. That's not admirable or cool to me regardless of whatever he thinks he's doing. Also, it's just such a white guy thing to ignore the shit in order to financially prop up a near-pedo 🥴
(I get what you're saying, btw, just going off of it!)
Plenty
...can they just put him back in the box they found him in in the basement of 30 Rock?
If the show was free, MAYBE I would agree to this... but bitch, if I paid money to see you do a show, I get to talk about it.
I hesitated getting tickets for Mulaney because it was a double bill with Davidson. I'm guessing most people are there for Mulaney! If they ask me to sign an NDA, I'll tell them, "Thanks, I'll wait until Mulaney is on stage to go take my seat in the theatre." What a bunch of nonsense.
This is so dumb. How would his team be able to monitor attendees/signees in this day and age. People can just hide their IPs and share their opinions under fake accounts.
the fact that people would sign this NDA given all these conditions is probably a bigger issue than the NDA existing itself
lmao Pete pls
If they received the NDA after purchasing the tickets and there was not prior notice about it, its not valid and you can refuse to sign it. If they deny entrance you can sue their asses if you want, lol.
Fans? FANS? He has fans?

This is so disgusting! I get a ban on phones/cameras at a venue but this is so over the top. Imagine being so unapologetic about your sexist and racist jokes that you wanna fine people (your own fans) one million dollars for the slight chance they have some criticism. Yuck.
