- The Korean star dropped the video for his collab with Becky G. on friday. During the night dance sequence J-Hope wears 'gel twists' in his hair. The look seems to be inspired by the artwork for the single, which features a cartoon mouse wearing dreadlocks and a Rastafarian beanie.
- Speaking to fans on Vlive, J-Hope said he requested the night scene and chose the styling himself.
- Fans who voiced their concern over cultural appropriation were harassed and silenced by a majority of the fanbase, who did not think it was a big deal and feared the backlash might reach the media.
- This was not the first time J-Hope was accused of cultural appropriation. In 2017 fans reached out to BTS' agency Big Hit Entertainment after he posted a photo from a video shoot wearing braids. Big Hit pulled the look from the Mic Drop music video.
