Just when you thought the Chicken Sandwich Wars of 2019 were over, the colonel chimes in with his chicken and doughnuts.
KFC announced that it’s testing doughnuts alongside their fried chicken at more than 40 locations in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia, and Pittsburgh. Customers can order a sandwich that wedges fried chicken between two glazed doughnuts OR less adventurous patrons can instead order a combination of fried chicken and doughnuts in a basket.
The sandwich is priced at $6, or as a combo meal for $8. The chicken-and-doughnut meal will cost $5.50 for one doughnut and $7.50 for two doughnuts. KFC said customers can also add a doughnut to any meal for $1.
The chain mentioned in its press release that it was using the test to evaluate whether they roll this out nationwide or not.
ONTD, would you try KFC’s donut chicken sandwich?
