Chipotle is adding a new protein to its menu for the first time in a year.
The fast casual restaurant is rolling out carne asada for a limited time at all stores nationwide in the US starting Tuesday. This is Chipotle’s first new meat item since it reintroduced chorizo last year.
The company tested it in 3 cities over the past year after it performed “incredibly well.” They also approved the steak for three popular diets: ketogenic, Paleo and Whole30.
Along with the new protein, the chain has also recently rolled out new vegan / vegetarian bowls made from existing ingredients to help lure more customers.
Love yourselves and get yourself some actual authentic carne asada from your local Mexican restaurants or food truck. But if you’re on a pinch, this is an option...for a limited time.
