Día de muertos is coming and Mattel is releasing a commemorative doll paying homage to the Mexican holiday.
The doll is intricately decorated with details on her outfit referencing traditions and rituals, such as cempasúchil flowers and monarch butterflies. She’s also decked out as a Catrina, in a Porfiriato style gown with traditional embroidery reminiscing the chiapaneca dresses, hair worn in two long braids down her back, topped off with a flower crown and butterflies. Barbie's face is also painted to look like a traditional sugar skull (calaverita de azúcar).
Preorders on auction sites have already been surging due to the limited numbers of the item and collectible factor.
How will you celebrate Día de muertos?
