Mortal Kombat is coming back to movie screens in 2020 and three more "kombatants" have joined the cast. Lewis Tan (Iron Fist) will play an undisclosed leading role, while Jessica McNamee (The Meg) has been cast as Sonya Blade, and Josh Lawson (Superstore) is Kano.
They join the previously cast Ludi Lin (Power Rangers) as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks (Supergirl) as Jax, Joe Taslim (The Raid: Redemption) as Sub-Zero, Tadanobu Asano (Thor: Ragnarok) as Raiden, and newcomer Sisi Stringer as Mileena.
The new Mortal Kombat is currently set to hit theatres on March 5, 2021.
Hopefully they do my girl Sonya justice this time around. Fun fact: Cameron Diaz was originally cast as Sonya in the first Mortal Kombat movie but had to drop out after injuring her hand during training.
