Today marks the world premiere of Lana Del Rey's first music video from her sixth studio album Norman Fucking Rockwell! Directed by Rich Lee, it features two new songs from the album out August 30: "Fuck It I Love You" and "The Greatest."
Del Rey has also been revealed as the cover star of Billboard Magazine's 2019 Fall Preview issue, in which she discusses "finding her voice and following her muse." The cover shoot, by Melodie McDaniel, occurred earlier this month at The Beckett Mansion in Los Angeles, CA.
• Del Rey was not initially interested in writing with Jack Antonoff, the Grammy award-winning producer of such pop albums as Taylor Swift's 1989 (2014) and Lorde's Melodrama (2017)—"He wanted me to meet him in some random diner, and I was like, 'You already worked with everyone else; I don't know where there's room for me"—but a 10-minute recording of "weird, atmospheric riffs" that he presented her proved a game-changer.
• An interest in "pondering the mysteries of the universe" has led Del Rey to attending church services on Wednesdays and Sundays with a group of her girlfriends; the article makes no reference to Hillsong, the controversial charismatic megachurch whose services the singer-songwriter has been photographed attending on multiple occasions.
