* Kenny, Booboo & Dove talk their audition process & the movie
* Ortega reveals Disney thought they couldn't get Booboo because he'd had done so much feature work beforehand
* Dove reveals she & Kristin Chenoweth vowed not to watch 'Malificent' in order not to be influenced

he's her dad?

this is a re-write of the book canon from before the first movie. In that her father was a human and Maleficent had made a big show about blaming everything she ever did wrong on her human half

But the book canon has diverged from the movies a lot so yeah - now he's her dad.

Wait so...they rewrote the books after the movies came out??

I missed the beginning. Did she remember he was her dad right away? In the book they just released, she has vague memories of him but doesn't remember. Then again they already changed book canon since in the first book that's a pre-quel to the first movie, her dad was a mystery human that Maleficent didn't want to talk about.

She always knew in the film canon. Just never said anything.

It's so weird that they can't even keep little things like that straight with the books. especially since book 3 and especially book 4 were just "hey here's some vague plot introducing characters and plots you'll see in the next movie" rather than a proper plot like book 1. Maybe they didn't tell the author enough to go on, though.

I mean, considering her grandmother has all but made it her life's work to groom her into being the perfect queen and now blames her for the work being ruined plus teenage hormones it makes some sense.

he's been infatuated with her since at least the last movie but they need a villain and with the in universe time being under a full year it makes enough sense she could still feel a way about this, especially given Queen Leah blaming it for her
