Trigger warning due to discussions on sex abuse and self harm.
- Halsey learned to cook on her own as her parents did not teach her.
- She owns 60 wigs.
-She left home to couch surf in Brooklyn and the lower east side. She was technically homeless(not having a fixed address). She spoke of sleeping with guys for a place to stay, but saw it turn into her being a sex worker. "I didn't have a pimp.No one was handing me money. But I was definitaly dating dudes I wasn'tinto because I could crash at their place. Im lucky that's all it was for me. I knew it was'nt just that for other woman I knew".
- Speaking of the backlash she got after speaking on her miscarriage." It was really weird to see people were like, well I'm going to police the validity of this experience that she had you know". The reporter apolizes as she was the one who wrote the article. Halsey" I apprieciate you saying that, but definitely it had nothing to do with you and everything with the way people perceive the female experience".
-Halsey get's extended manic periods she knows won't last forever due to her bi-poler disorder" I know I"m going to be f***ing depressed and be boring again soon". And I hate that's a way of thinking everytime I wake up and relize I'm in a depressive episode. I'm like f**k, this is where we are at now"?
-Halsey speaks of a sexually assault that happened a few years ago. Something she thought her fame made her immune to."A young man seeks success and power so that he can use it to control peple and young woman seek success and power so that they no longer have to worry about being controlled. It's an illusion, a lie. There is no amount of success or notoriety that makes you safe when your a woman. None".
- Halsey confronted her recent sexual abuser who she says" took it seriously" went to rehab and sought therapy. She feels catharsis, feels confident that other woman will not be at risk from the same person actions the same way, but also understands and resents the risk she takes by speaking out at all." Then I'm not Grammy nominated pop star, then i'm rape survior. I have worked to hard to be quantified or catergorized by something like that".
-She had surgery for her endemetriossis and made lifestyle changes and her doctor told her she may not have to freeze her eggs to have a child. She was ecstatic and jokes she may have a baby instead of a third album.
-She supports her whole family and has been commited twice in her career. It was her choice as she told her manager" Hey I'm not going to do anything bad right now, but I'm getting to a point that I'm scared that I might so I need to figure this out" "It is still happening in my body, I just know when to get in front of it".
