This Influencer Couple Admitted His Mom Works Two Jobs To Pay For Their Trips

It all started when German based influencers and married couple Catalin Onc and Elena Engelhardt, who run an Instagram account full of photos of the couple’s travels around the world called Another Beautiful Day, started a GoFundMe to fund a biking trip from Germany to um, Africa.

The couple were seeking €10,000 (a little over $11,000) to cover everything such as, “bike and gear, food and accommodation (when needed), internet and SIM cards in every country to keep you up to date, insurance, emergencies.”

People were quick to criticize the couple telling them to get jobs, especially when Onc admitted that his own mother doesn’t have much yet works two jobs to fund their lavish trips.

“Some will tell us to get jobs, like everyone else and stop begging. But when you have the impact we do on others life, getting a job is not an option,” he wrote in a now-deleted post verified by screenshots and BuzzFeed.

“We could model and make fast money, but we don’t want to advertise consumerism. A normal job at this point would be detrimental,” he added.

After the backlash, the pair said they would take a break from social media and Onc said he would go for “a walk.”

It lasted 6 days.

Catalin Onc recently posted a new video to Instagram, which shows him writing on a piece paper before holding it up to the screen.

In the comments, people thought he would write that he got a job. Instead he wrote, “Sometimes it’s better to say nothing,” before dropping the paper and forming a love-heart shape with his hands.
