Marianne talks about the country’s moral and spiritual awakening, vaccinations, Biden, terrorism, reparations. Semi-summary of her conversation [Spoiler (click to open)]
Thinks the American people are good, but we’ve stopped asking ourselves what goodness means. Talks sale of arms to Saudi Arabia means aerial support to genocide in Yemen as an example that we’ve lost our moral compass. Talks aristocratic situation where money is placed before people, health, planet, etc. Quotes a lot of facts and figures of domino effect and how we should be re-prioritizing efforts to educate children to stop the decline. She doesn’t believe not having political experience negates being able to build relationships with congress. [Bad idea to compare to Tr/mp because he’s an incompetent authoritarian bad businessman and idiot, vs most professionals outside of politics would’ve developed effective leadership skills]. Some of the panel think she sounds like Tr/mp, when she says maybe stop relying on the politicos who got us here, to be the ones to get us to a better place. Meghan calls her out for being anti-vaxx, but she says she’s not anti-vaxx. Marianne goes on to say that blind faith in big pharma is a bad idea [her issue seems more to do with the devil that is big pharma pushing drugs to the people for profit (regardless of reason), vs legit medical treatment]. Heated topic, she believes the science, but feels there should be an independent objective commission to study medical side effects by a panel not paid by big pharma. She supports vaccines, doesn’t say anything about exemptions. Says she was vaccinated as a child but also had the measles. Biden comments are brought up but she side-steps this and says she doesn’t want to comment on other candidates, she wants to talk about her own campaign. Joy brings up Why run for potus, vs she’s written 14 books write another one, she discusses why she’s in it to make a difference, not to up her book sales. Meghan brings up countries with ISIS and Afghan and how that relates to earlier remarks on moral and spiritual awakening. She wants a US Dept of Peace, says she’s not a pacifist but believes what will make us safe is peace-building, which requires expanding oppty for children and women [she says a lot-too much to transcribe]. Sunny brings up reparations, Marianne wants to make America whole and feels you have to clean up the past, taking a fearless moral inventory, brings up atonement being necessary to really move forward, doesn’t discuss actual financial aspects but they were out of time, so this was more philosophical that she believes it should be addressed.
[She identifies as Democrat and her side job as a public speaker is on full display, a lot of ground is covered. She gives Me-again the side eye a couple of times, because Me-again was being too combative while the other panelists were just talking normal. Her positions may be hit or miss with some.]
Nik Wallenda Daredevil Acrobat
[Trigger warning for a disturbing photo during the FIRST clip*]
Nik talks about his upcoming hire wire act @ Times Square on Sunday @ 8PM on ABC. Wants to pay tribute to his family. Almost impossible to get permission (local regulations). Talks about how the lighting plays an important role in how the act will work. Sunny is a fraidy-cat of rollercoasters. *His sister had a fall in 2017 that broke every bone in her face. He can’t look at photo, talks about his family’s injuries and how he and his family coped with the accident. Talks about experiencing ptsd during a subsequent act because he was still so afraid. Joy asks him how he keeps on with the family business. Meghan details the new act - 25 stories high walking 1300 ft (equiv of 4 soccer fields), how will it be with his sister there too. He talks an 8th generation is getting in the game, his nieces and nephews have already started.
Hot Topic House Panel Explores Reparations

Congress debates whether to compensate American descendants of slaves. Danny Glover spoke before the House. The panel talks about slavery, Jim Crow, institutionalized racism affecting economic disparities. Joy wonders if descendants of slave owners should be the ones who pay reparations. Mitch McC. said electing Obama was reparation, Whoopi points out McC. said he’d make B44 a one-term potus and did everything he could to obstruct B44 legislation. Sunny points out that the bill doesn’t specifically ask for cash reparations, but is about a study of the issue, which is being opposed by the usual suspects. Whoopi paraphrases that MLK once said to those who want people to pick themselves up by their bootstraps, well that would be fine if you had boots.
