Singers Going For Damaging Notes (And Messing Them Up)

Ariana Grande - Everyday

Goes flat at 2:35. This isn't the first time this has happened to her for this very song. She eventually learned to laugh off her efforts on stage, but presently, she doesn't really attempt to hit that note, since it is pretty damaging. At least she tried it though! Imagine knowing there's a chance you'll mess up a note but go for it anyway. That's guts, man.

Mariah Carey - Emotions

Queen of damaged vocals. Belts out her famous high note at 6:50, but it isn't quite how it used to be due to a mixture of age and damage. She tries it again at 7:32, but has to cut it short. Before trying again immediately and having the same thing happen. She then tries it again. That's kind of badass tbh.

Miley Cyrus - When I Look At You

Really tries it at 3:21. It comes out as a yell instead of any real singing note. Same thing happens at 3:40 onward. Miley's not really known for her high notes, but I think it's safe to say that drugs rule everything around her in pretty damaging ways, rip.

Fergie - Let's Get It Started

Goes flat at 0:12. She really committed to it tbh. You can hear her try to go higher before immediately abandoning ship. Still delivering! Hitting those higher notes back in the day most likely did a number on her vocal cords.

Goes flat immediately, but jumps from whisper queen to Raise Your Voice at 2:03. This one is just OP being a dick. Fun fact: stans try to use those 2 seconds as an example of Selena being able to sing.
