‘Hunger Games’ Prequel Novel From Suzanne Collins Coming In 2020

Get ready to return to Panem (If we're not already there by the time this book comes out).

Suzanne Collins is returning with a prequel book to the wildly popular "The Hunger Games" novels, and of course old pal Lionsgate is itching to adapt it into a movie. The book is not titled yet.

“As the proud home of the Hunger Games movies, we can hardly wait for Suzanne’s next book to be published. We’ve been communicating with her during the writing process and we look forward to continuing to work closely with her on the movie,” said Chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group about the plans for a movie.
The novel will be set in the world of Panem 64 years before the events of the original Hunger Games trilogy on the morning of the reaping of the 10th Hunger Games. For reference the two games that take place in the current books are #74 and #75.

It will have been more than 10 years since the first book took the world by storm. Do you think we've progressed as a society enough to not be angry when side characters are cast as the race they were described as? Do you think we could cast any potential lead accurately to the book to the movie? Who knows!
