Vulture's review of the finale:

Highlights:
[Spoiler (click to open)]
* Mentions how rare it is to have 20 whole minutes of solid romantic lesbian screen time, that Anne and Ann got two full romantic resolutions in the finale. First by he caved in coal mine, then at the end we see them taking he sacrament together and committing to each other privately.

* Talks about how Ann Walker, once driver to self-harm is now fighting for autonomy and praises the coal mine scene with back and forth love declarations, Anne awkwardly talking about her trip, Ann being sweet and vulnerable and Anne's "Don't hurt me; I'm not as strong as you think. Well, I am obviously. But sometimes I'm not" dialogue.

* Ann and Anne's private ceremony of commitment is intercut with Thomas and Suzannah's very public wedding. It's a happy occasion, but the two wives have to keep their vows under wraps for fear of being ostracized or worse.

* Viewers get the ending they want, without the characters being imagined into a better history or taken out of harm's way. The finale brought hope that as queers, our happiest moments will be as centered as the struggles, that we'll get great monologues and beautiful romances.

Some interesting BTS videos.

The actors talk a bit about historical Anne Lister (as well as the other characters)-

Slightly older, but a look at the clothing and wigs on Gentleman Jack
