Last month it was reported that 26 year old model Tales Cotta had died upon collapsing on the runway during a presentation at São Paulo Fashion Week. Now, an autopsy report obtained by the Brazilian media reveals that the model suffered from "a heart disease that perhaps [he] did not know he had."
The report, presented by the Legal Medical Forensic Institute, concludes that Cotta died from acute pulmonary edema, an accumulation of fluid in the air spaces around the lungs stemming from congestive heart failure. No drugs or alcohol were found in Cotta's system, and there was nothing to indicate the model suffered from an eating disorder as was initially speculated.
