What Year Is It? Apple announces its first new iPod in four years

Today Apple announced its new iPod in four years with their latest iteration of the iPod Touch.

Twitter started dragging Apple for their latest announcement when iPod Touch started trending.

During the iPod’s peak in 2008, Apple sold more than 55 million units.

Apple stopped releasing iPod sales figures in 2013, selling fewer than 20 million units.

With a A10 Fusion chip inside, the new iPod Touch is “twice as fast as before,” according to Greg Joswiak, Apple’s product marketing Vice President.

The new iPod touch will retail at $199 for 32GB, $299 for 128GB, and $399 for the 256GB storage option.

It will come in space gray, white, gold, blue, pink, and red.

It goes on sale today on Apple’s website.
