Selena Gomez On Social Media (again): "Terrible", and "Dangerous"

Selena Gomez has spoken out about how unhealthy social media is, normally in terms of mental health. But this time, she's speaking against how misinformation spreads like wildfire. At a conference at the Cannes Film Festival, she say's social media has been terrible for her generation and she believes it to be dangerous.

Transcript: “Social media has really been terrible for my generation. I understand that it's amazing to use your platform, but it does scare me when you see how exposed that these young girls and these young boys are. And they're not really aware of the news or anything going on. It's a very... it's just... I don't wanna say 'selfish' 'cause that feels rude. But I think it's dangerous, for sure. I don't think people are getting the right information sometimes.”

- On what she could do to improve the social media environment, she says it's "impossible" at this point to make it safe.

- Selena Gomez: "I'm very grateful I have the platform in any way, I can still share things I'm passionate about. I don't do a lot of pointless pictures. I like to be intentional with it."
