George Clooney Discusses the Backlash Against the Sultan of Brunei

- On Ellen, George Clooney addresses the Sultan of Brunei saying that he will not enforce capital punishment for for homosexuality
- Clooney called this a "huge step forward" but that it is "not fixed yet" and as such he will keep putting pressure on the country as well and will continue to boycott Brunei hotels. Homosexuality is still criminalised in the country.
- Activists say that big banks joining the protest helped create some of this change.
- Clooney hopes that this will be " a warning shot over to countries like Indonesia and Malaysia who are also considering these laws."
