Lynne Spears believes Britney is in 'dire straits', asks judge to protect her

Yesterday it was reported that Lynne Spears had moved forward with asking to be involved in Britney's lifelong conservatorship.

Now she's taking it a step further, by asking the judge to order her ex-husband Jamie Spears (Britney's current conservator), to include her in her daughter's treatment plan.

Lynne filed new court documents with her own attorney asking to appear at Britney's scheduled May 10th hearing regarding her conservatorship, because she now believes Britney is in "dire straits" and needs a judge to protect her.

Jamie's representatives on the other hand are telling TMZ that Britney remains unstable and requires discipline. The source says, "Britney is making bad decisions and it's a problem", whereas Lynne thinks she's being taken advantage of.
